Reminiscing Good Friday

Jesus returned to Jerusalem so that He could submit to the torture that ended on the Cross of Calvary. He entered a King and died a condemned criminal.

For many years I struggled with this seeming injustice that affronted my sense of intellectual righteousess. Why would a Holy and Almighty God put up with the wickedness and audacious behaviour of people, who until a few days back, were an adoring crowd showered with miraculous healing and abundant food?

Why, I would not think twice snuffing out an unsuspecting fly daring enough to buzz in my ear. So presumably a God who holds the world in the palm of His hands should have no trouble despatching His detractors. No trouble at all. Yet He did not.

God held back so that we may go forth with new life. Had I not met a meek God who loved so passionately, I would have never believed. Anything less fantastic would be fiction.
