I should really stop being grumpy. It's really good advice come to think of it.
Why get all flustered about students who could not care less that you are trying to teach?
Why bother to remind them many times when there is hardly anyone who was listening to you in the first place?
Why go the extra mile for those who treat you like you do not exist?
Care less and you probably wont be wantonly accused of being grumpy. Let those who want to do other people's work in your class alone. They know best.
Teaching has its high and low moments. This was probably one of the lowest. Standing in front of a class, trying to teach, calling out for crumbs of attention and getting derision in return, these are the things that made me wish I was elsewhere.
Indifference kills the spirit, without which, passion is utterly worthless.
