I am kind of worried that I am growing sideways as a result of unrestrained eating amidst this holiday season and continuous stream of official buffet lunches and dinners. For some unexplained reason, I have been neglecting my regular dose of exercise which exercerbate the physical deterioration I see developing. Soon enough I will not be able to jump into my favourite pair of trousers should I fail to stop the advances of the bulging tummy. War rages on.
Coming back to happier matters, I am pleased that Sean and company had a great time, and the spread of ethnic cuisine was pleasant to everyone's palette. The games looked fun, if not tostesterone-laden, appealing to the primal instincts that lie dormant. The girls looked on, cheering on the champions in their victory dance. How very tribal.
I am glad to report that Si Yan has been given a portion of the food and cake from the party so that he too can partake in Sean's joy. I do hope that his parents will not think me mad for coming over at 10 pm at night to deliver food. It was along the way to Phil's house and it was really not a problem. By the way, Si Yan sounds like his dad over the phone, and I mistakenly thought that Si Yan was on the phone when it was actually his father. I said in my teacherly tone.. "May I speak to your mom please..." Err... how embarassing. I profusely apologise.
I promise myself today I will restart my regime of exercise to fight the buldge.
